I must confess that I was completely caught off guard by this release. Hearing virtually nothing of Excalion before writing this review, I was expecting just your average, 2nd-tier type gime metal CD, which being honest here do litter this massive metal genre. Being this the first show with this new material and formation with Onni Hirvonen on bass guitars.

Jarno is right at the front of the mix, always belting out the surprisingly cool, albeit somewhat stereotypical, lyrics, and he sounds great as always, never missing a beat. The material for this album was more melodic with a greater emphasis on the vocal lines.

The phrasing of the lyrics is great, with rich hooks and winding, complex writing alike. Their songs are never too long, full of harmonies, come with clean ttime and lots of guitar solos.
