That being said, in all honesty, the book is quite specific about focusing on its setting--and 15th century Silesia is something most likely to be far too obscure for an average reader to pay much attention to. Mysteries pile up but literally nothing happens except for a lot of sitting and walking around. This could be redeemable in some way if he learnt something after every time he screws up, but he doesn't. Almost all side characters are believable, well written and interesting to read and listen.
He's also young, stupid, and mostly thinks with his "lower brain", so to speak--this Unlike the Witcher books, this one did not blow me away. Is contained in Narrenturm - Gottesstreiter - Lux perpetua: I think this was the best book of a Polish author I have ever read.
And, naturally, this short review is most certainly not done sine ira et studio. During my read of the The Witcher saga, I've had many people tell me in sadness on my behalf, it seems that I'll never be able to read Sapkowski's greatest work, The Hussite trilogy, being an English speaker and all.

The story is flat and often goes into meaningless subplots. Compared to Reynevan, secondary characters are great.

Characters are also very andrzwj built and likeable, even the villains.

Even tough Reinmar is getting into troubles literally every 10 audioboo I have never felt that he was in a real danger. Long story short, he's a fool.

The times the Hussite wars. Reinmar's second travelling companion is Andrzek Miodek Honeya village idiot of a giant stature hiding more that meets the eye. Narrenturm Hussite Trilogy 1 by Andrzej Sapkowski.
Writing and language are of insane quality, being quite sapmowski the addition of other languages as latin, italian, or german to the mix. Reynevan himself is frustrating in his obtuseness, but the interplay with his friends who never cease to point out just what an idiot he is, makes it tolerable.

Speaking of which, Sapkowsky's trademark bawdy sense of humor is very present in this book, possibly more so than in the witcher series. Symbolism is used sapkowsli and well placed.
